Day on the Farm

Last week we went to Daniel's Aunts' house for a little bit. She has a lot of land, horses, and goats-all things perfect for a little girl who LOVES animals and loves being outside. If we just mention going outside, Paige runs to the front door and whines waits patiently to go out.

Paige wasn't afraid of the horse at all. She loved petting him and "talking" to him. I'm sure the horse enjoyed all her stories.

Here she is trying to give him kisses. What I can say, she's a friendly girl!

We didn't get any pictures with the goats, they were a little shy.

Paige had a great time running around and playing. It was a little windy, but such a great day!

Paige is growing up! We went to the doctor this week, and she weighs 20 lbs! Little chunk has put on some weight! She now weighs more than her 16 month old cousin. I know 20 lbs isn't a lot, but for my little munchkin it is.

It's weird that we only have 10 days left in Oklahoma. We've been here almost 5 months, but it sure has gone by fast. We will be at my parents house for about 3 months in Illinois-so if you are nearby, feel free to visit!

Baby Toddler

Paige has been in her crib for over an hour now playing. I think she's just about to fall asleep. Surely, she is just about to fall asleep. Sheesh.

Baby girl is growing up so fast, and Daniel is determined to make me accept it. He keeps referring to her as a toddler and making me cry. She is STILL a baby and will always be a baby to me. Even if my 11 month old is full on walking. I'll post pics soon.

It's been cold here lately, and we're about to get 3 waves of snow/ice/and sleet. I used to love snow days, but when you have a baby, (not a toddler), being stuck inside for days isn't the best for anyone. We were inside for a few days in a row recently, and finally decided we had to get out. And any reason to wear our cute cupcake hat is a win.

We've also been spending lots of time in our pj's. Because hello, baby in footed pajama's, what is not to love? And of course, Paige isn't lacking in her Grandpa snuggles.

(see BABY! she's so tiny and cute when she sucks her thumb. Someone. anyone. please agree with me!)

A few days ago, a friend offered us free tickets to the OU basketball game. It was last minute and I had never been to a game so we scooped them up. I chattered non stop about how excited I was, and Daniel quickly realized, I have got to get out of the house more.

But being indoors and cold makes me want to bake. I made blueberry muffins from scratch for the first time, and they were delish! Here's the recipe. I will say, they really are best the first two days, after that they were just 'eh.'

I got a bundt pan for Christmas and I made chocolate chip pumpkin bread/cake. It was really good and I was giddy with how it came out! I'm going to try this Cinnamon Roll recipe soon, I can't wait! She has several that I want to try. My sister made a chocolate one and said it was yummy.

Random, but has anyone watched the Wahlburger's show? I watched both episodes and loved them! Really made me wish I had grown up with brothers.

Also, yesterday afternoon I joined my SIL at a nursing moms group. I'll clearly spare you the details, but it was fun and something new. There was a first time mom there with her 5 day old, who was struggling to figure it out. Been there! And can I just say, SO glad I'm not there anymore! I love nursing, but those first few days for a new mom, where you have no idea what's going on....whew.

Tomorrow we plan to go grocery shopping before the crazies get out and take all the bread. We will of course be watching the Superbowl too. I'm not overly committed to cheering for any team, but I get excited to watch a good game. I'm planning to make guacamole and drink Coke in a fancy glass.

Happy early Groundhog Day!

Life in the USA

We've been in the States for a month now. So much has happened already, I can't believe it's only been a month.

Last week we took a little road trip to Dallas.

We went right after all the bad weather in Dallas. I was so happy to see this sign. I just love Texas!

BFF Amy was in town (she lives in Hawaii), and I was DYING to see her! She has a little boy and we've already decided he and Paige will be the perfect couple.

Aren't they precious??!!?!!?  It was really hard to get good pics of them... they both like to move, and are way too busy to stop and take a pic.

Amy and I haven't seen each other in 3 1/2 years, since she got married. That is WAY too long.

We had the best time! We all stayed at Amy's parents house and hung out, ate, and just had fun. We hung out in our pj's, went to Cheesecake Factory, Amy and I went shopping, and we watched the kids play. It was wonderful and more.  Daniel and Jeremy get along really well, which makes it easier for me and Amy to go to Target while they hang out at home with the kiddos :)

Did I mention it's hard to take pictures with children?

Love her!

While we were in Dallas, I also got to hook up with Jen! We were both in each other's weddings, and have been friends for several years! Her little girl is just a few months older than Paige. I saw her last year, but Jen hadn't seen Paige yet. So we met at the Cracker Barrel and caught up a bit.

Isn't this cute?!?! Paige just reached over and grabbed Anna'as hand. They can't wait to be good friends!

Anna was sweet to pass this toy onto Paige. She loves it and has been playing with it non-stop. My only complaint is that children's toys that play music should all include a volume button. Just sayin. :)

That was our week in Dallas! I'll try to post soon about what else we've been up to, and Paige's 10 month post!

10 days in America

We've been in the States about 10 days now. It has really flown by! I'm shocked at how fast it has already gone.

This was our first full day-so if we look tired, it's because we are!

We both had a pretty rough time with jetlag....much more than usual. I think friday night is when I really started sleeping through the night.

Our first day back we went to Chick-fil-a, went grocery shopping (one of my favorite things!), and celebrated Daniel's birthday with his family at BJ's.

I've gone to Target and walked almost every single aisle. And actually only bought some chocolate milk-shocking I know. I also went to the mall and walked around a bit, and of course had to buy a few things for Paige. I found some great deals on a few onesies and just could not resist!

My niece, Adelyn Kate, was born last Wednesday. We've facetimed a few times and she is pretty cute! We're hoping Sarah can fly to my parents in Illinois in March for the little cousins to meet.

We're in Oklahoma and got a cold front over the weekend-which meant a fire in the fireplace! It's been so nice to sit and watch the fire and enjoy being warm indoors!

We all went to watch a Christmas light show this past Monday. It's been really fun to see the Christmas lights every night! I love that so many people decorate for Christmas.

Paige has been moving non stop these past few days....it's by far the most I've ever felt her. I'm sure she is just a fan of American food :)

We're going to Dallas this weekend and I'm reallllly excited! I'm going to be able to see one of my long time friends and her little baby girl that she just had....I am loving all the little baby girls right now! And hello, it's Dallas...I'm going to try and hit up a few baby stores while I'm there too.

My MIL and I got pedicures this week, and even though it's winter and no one sees my feet-it was SO enjoyable and my toes were in desperate need!

Those are my tidbits from the week! I'll be posting soon about some of the culture shock moments we've had.....it's been interesting adjusting back to american culture!

Have a good Wednesday!
