36-38 Week Recap

This time next week I will be checked into the hospital and getting ready for my c-section. I check in the day before at 4pm, then I should have little Joshua about 9am next Tuesday! How crazy is that?!!? Daniel keeps saying how this is the last week of our lives that we will only have one child. It sounds so strange saying that and I can't believe how quickly our lives are going to be changing.

37 Weeks

38 Weeks

I went to the doctor today. It was weird knowing that this was my last appointment and ultrasound before meeting our new little baby. Everything looks good and not shockingly, it doesn't look like I would go into labor anytime soon on my own. Since Paige was 2 weeks overdue, I'm assuming Joshua would be the same if we weren't doing the c-section.

My doctor did give me some antibiotics today. I've had a bad cough for over a month that will not go away. I feel fine and went to the doctor 2 weeks ago, and they said there isn't any infection and gave me cough medicine. But the medicine didn't really help and my cough is still here. My ribs are hurting from coughing so much and I know after the c-section coughing is pretty brutal. So I'm really hoping this cough will finally go away before next week.

Here are the stats:

How Far Along: 38 weeks on Wednesday

Size of Baby: Winter Melon- about 7 lbs and 20 inches long

Weight Gain: 30-31 lbs

Gender: Boy, Joshua O'Dell

Movement: He seems to be slowing down a bit. I don't feel him all day long anymore, so I think he's sleeping and getting into more of a routine.

Sleep: Pretty good! With Paige I slept really bad and was always having pains, but other than the mid-night potty breaks, I'm sleeping really well. I've only had a couple of leg cramps with this pregnancy, and I'm so thankful!

Maternity Clothes: Of course! Still wear my old t shirts around the house, but no matter what I wear now, hardly anything covers up this big belly!

Symptoms: Lots of Braxton-Hicks and feeling pretty worn out and always thirsty!

Aversions: Not much of anything

Cravings: Not much, I think my appetite has slowed down a little.

What I miss: Sleeping on my back and stomach

What I'm Looking Forward to: Paige's birthday is thursday and my dad flies in that day too!

Best Moment this Week: My mom came in last week and has been so helpful! We have gotten so much stuff done around the house, and it's been great to have an extra set of hands to help with Paige.

31-35 Week Recap

I can't believe I've past the 35 week mark! Less than 4 more weeks to go before we meet little baby Joshua! I'm still convinced that he will come early....it's just a feeling, but I honestly don't know how I'm going to make it 4 more weeks.

I've still been going to the doctor's every 2 weeks, and will start going every week. Something interesting they do here-is fetal monitoring at every appointment after 34 weeks. It's not as high tech as the stress test and monitoring I did when I was overdue with Paige. They basically listen to the heartbeat and monitor any contractions for 15-30 minutes.

I did find out at my last appointment that he is still breech! I keep hoping he will turn just so that his big head will stop ramming up into my ribs. And for the record, the doctor said he has a big head, not me.

Here are the stats:

How Far Along: 35 Weeks

Size of Baby: Melon, about 20 inches long, and almost 5.5lbs!!!

Weight Gain: 26-27 lbs

Gender: Boy-Joshua O'dell

Movement: yes...I can feel his little arms and legs moving all across my stomach. I keep trying to get Paige to feel him move, but she's not really into it. Sometimes she will kiss my belly though and it's really sweet.

Sleep: I'll have a few days where I sleep great, then a few where it's pretty awful. Some nights are filled with hip pain and others aren't bad at all. I have been getting really hot at night, while Daniel is freezing.

Maternity Clothes: Yep....unless I'm just hanging around the house, then I'll wear my regular t shirts, which don't cover my belly anymore.

Symptoms: Back pain, hip pain, a lot of Braxton Hicks lately, feeling tired and dehydrated-no matter how much water I drink

Aversions: Not really anything

Cravings: Mostly sweets and Lays potato chips

What I Miss: Sleeping on my back and stomach

What I'm Looking Forward to: My mom gets here in less than 2 weeks!! And we will have an ultrasound this Tuesday.

Best Moment this Week: This was actually over a week ago, but my friends here gave me a baby shower. It was a lot of fun!!

Me with the hostesses from my shower-these 3 friends gave me a shower when I had Paige too.

I'll try to do at least one more pregnancy recap before little Joshua comes.

29-30 Week Recap

I'll be 30 weeks tomorrow! I had a couple people ask me today how far along I was, and it was so crazy to say 30 weeks, I mean it might as well be 40!

I went to the doctor today for my regular check up, I'm going every 2 weeks now. I've been uncomfortable the last few days but haven't thought much about it, until the doctor told me Joshua is breeched again. Which explains why I feel like I can barely lean forward or bend down without feeling very uncomfortable. I'm hoping he moves soon!

So last night some friends offered to watch Paige, while Daniel and I had a date night out! We went to dinner and then Starbucks. Daniel ordered his coffee and then I ordered my decaf Toffee Nut Latte. The barista looked at me and asked if I was pregnant. I said yes, and then he said he couldn't serve me coffee because it was "not appropriate or unsuitable." I was pretty shocked. I kept telling him it's okay, I was ordering decaf. However, he would not be swayed!!! I told him I've been to Starbucks many times and never had a problem. It wasn't until I told him that my doctor knows that I drink coffee, that he finally caved and agreed to sell me coffee! (sidenote, my local doctor doesn't know i drink coffee, but that's not neither here nor there!) :) I wasn't angry, but I was so shocked that he wouldn't sell me coffee just because I was pregnant!

Here are my stats:

How Far Along: 30 weeks

Size of Baby: Small Cabbage-17 inches long and about 2 1/2-3 lbs

Weight Gain: 21 lbs. My goal was to stay at 30 lbs for this pregnancy, so I think i'll be pretty close.

Gender: Boy-Joshua O'Dell

Movement: Yes, all the time. He is usually a daytime mover, but he's been moving more at night lately.

Sleep: It's getting a little better. I still wake up a lot to change positions or move pillows-and it isn't easy to roll over anymore!

Maternity Clothes: yep-even though my skirt in the picture and the sweater I wore today are my regular clothes

Symptoms: Hunger, i've been so hungry lately!

Aversions: not much...

Cravings: Food-hot chocolate and lays regular potato chips

Since I'll be having a scheduled c-section, only 9 more weeks to go!!!

25-28 Week Recap

I'll be 29 weeks on Wednesday. And to be honest, that is freaking me out a little bit! I'm not sure why I felt way more prepared when I had Paige, and this time I feel like nothing is ready and that I'm running out of time before little Joshua gets here.

Here are a few pics to recap:
  25 Weeks

26 Weeks

Week 27 I got a stomach bug and lost almost 5 pounds. It was pretty miserable. But don't worry, I went to the doctor this week and I gained it all back :)

Week 28

I feel MUCH bigger than I look!

Joshua was breech for a little bit, and that was severely uncomfortable. But thankfully he has turned and I'm hoping he stays head down. It doesn't matter too much because I'm having a c-section, but breech baby kicks are not fun.

Here are the stats at 28 weeks:

How Far Along: 28 weeks

Size of Baby: Head of cauliflower, 16 inches long, 2.5 lbs

Weight Gain: 20 lbs

Gender: Boy-Joshua O'dell

Movement: All day long. Paige was more of a night mover, but Joshua parties all day long and is pretty quiet at night.

Sleep: eh.....this week has been the hardest. I just can't seem to get comfortable and my hips and back hurt when I lay down.

Maternity Clothes: yes-I still wear some of my regular yoga pants and t shirts

Symptoms: Increased appetite, begin tired

Aversions: Nothing really

Cravings: Salt-I've been eating Lays potato chips like crazy.

What I Miss: Sleeping well and running.

What I'm Looking Forward to: This isn't related to Joshua, but I'm really looking forward to Christmas with Paige. She's pretty clueless about it all, but it's fun to see her get excited about the Christmas tree or play with her Little People Nativity. I can't wait to have two little babies to celebrate with next year!

Best Moment this Week: Daniel traveled out to the mountains this past week, so Paige and I had a lot of good extra quality time.

22-24 Week Recap and Name Reveal

I feel like it's been a big 3 weeks for our little boy! I am feeling him move all the time, and it's so strong I can feel specific parts of his body-not sure if it's an arm or a leg, but he pokes out a lot and lets me know he is in there!

24 Weeks

Here is 24 weeks with Paige:

I'm pretty sure baby boy had a growth spurt during week 23-I was hungry all the time and really felt like I grew overnight. My appetite comes and goes, there's times where I am starving and then times where food just doesn't sound that great. I think I feel less hungry when he's sitting higher up and making me uncomfortable, ha!

Before we get to the stats, here is our little boy's name:

Joshua O'Dell

When I was pregnant with Paige, before we knew she was a girl, we had decided that for our boys middle name, we wanted to use O'dell after Daniel's grandfather, who was James O'Dell, but went by O'Dell. Daniel lost his grandpa not too long ago. We are so thankful that we already knew we were having a boy and were able to tell him that our little boy would carry on his name. Paige's middle name is Olivia, and I really like that our children will both have O middle names.

We didn't have anything picked our for the first name, so after throwing several around we realized that we both really liked the name Joshua, which means God Is Salvation.

We keep asking Paige where Baby Joshua is and she always points to her belly. She also calls him Baby Joshie, which is pretty darn cute.

We also had a 4D ultrasound last week:

He has Daniel's nose!

Here are the stats for week 24:

How Far Along: 24 Weeks (almost 25)

Size of Baby: Ear of Corn-about 1 1/2 lbs, but I wouldn't be surprised if he was bigger!

Weight Gain: Maybe 14-15 lbs?

Gender: Boy-Joshua O'Dell

Movement: YES! I'll have a day where he doesn't do too much, but for the most part he is wiggling and kicking a lot

Sleep: It's not too bad actually. I still wake up tired and have had some back and hip pain, but nothing like what I had with Paige

Maternity Clothes: All pants and most shirts. I still wear my regular t shirts though.

Symptoms: A little heartburn, increased appetite and just feeling "heavy"

Aversions: Not really anything

Cravings; Sweets, coffee, and I'm dying for a huge gooey cinnamon roll!

What I miss: Not much, maybe sleeping on my back and stomach

What I'm Looking Forward to:  Not sure....my mom is bringing the nursery stuff when she comes in February so there really isn't much for me to do right now. I guess just continuing to have a healthy pregnancy and feel my little one move!

Best Moment of the Week: Daniel and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary yesterday! We went out for dinner and a movie and had the best time!

17-21 Week Recap

So it's been a while, this you know. But let's get right to this recap!

17 Weeks

I don't have any pictures of weeks 18-20. But I have definitely popped, and I didn't even realize it at first. I was talking to a friend and said how I felt like I was in the awkward "is she fat or pregnant?" stage. And she very bluntly said "No, you LOOK pregnant." And she was so right.

We are planning on delivering here in our city in East Asia. A few foreigners have already had babies here and have had pretty good experiences. I met the doctor today-he is a local, but has practiced in the States and has great english. There are definitely a few cultural differences.though.  First, the average stay after a c-section (which is what I'll have) is 6-7 days. I've already asked if I could leave before then, and he said it was okay. Another is the swimming they offer the baby just a few days after birth. We saw a newborn today "swimming." Daniel said he would let our baby do it, but I'm going to go with no on this one.

It looks like this, except picture a newborn.

Here are the Stats:

How Far Along: 21 weeks

Size of Baby: 11 inches long, almost a pound!

Weight Gain: I think maybe 10 pounds. I'm not too sure.

Gender: It's a BOY!!!!! We had an early ultrasound at 16 weeks in the States, and they were 75% sure. We had one at 19 weeks here, and they definitely see a boy!

Movement: Every day at this point. I can feel him getting stronger with his movements!

Sleep: Now it's not too bad. Our first few weeks here I was pretty uncomfortable most nights. But we are on a regular mattress now, and things are much better!

Maternity Clothes: Yes. I still wear some of my t shirts and regular shirts, but the maternity shirts are starting to fit better over the bump.

Symptoms: Some back and hip pain that comes and goes, and I can tell my appetite is increasing

Aversions: Nothing really.

Cravings: Sweets mostly, and also Nature Valley's Salted Caramel Nut Protein Bar. I bought a box randomly to bring here and I'm saving my last one for a very special day. But I think about eating it a lot.

What I Miss: Not too much.

Best Moment of the Week: Having the ultrasound last week and confirming we're having a boy! We have a name picked out that I'll share soon!

What I'm looking Forward to: Getting his nursery ready. It's a complete mess right now from the move, and I don't have anything picked out yet. But I'm excited for whenever it does comes together.

That's me and Baby Boy at 21 weeks!

14 Week Recap

Okay, so technically I was 14 weeks last Wednesday. But we'll just go with this. I'll do my 15 week recap (which is tomorrow!) as soon as I can.

Here are the stats!

How Far Along: 14 Weeks

Size of Baby: Lemon, 3 inches long

Weight Gain: 5-6 lbs

Gender: don't know yet, but we think boy

Maternity Clothes: yep, all my pants.

Symptoms: Left side back pain...i feel this all day long. and tired.

What I Miss: Not having back pain, ha

What I'm looking forward to: I have an ultrasound next Monday, the last one we'll have in the States. I can't wait to see how big our little peanut is!

13 Week Recap

I was 13 weeks this past Wednesday!

This pregnancy has been easier so far compared to my first. I really wasn't even that sick with Paige, mostly just nauseous weeks 8-12. But this second time around I was only nauseous the first few weeks. I have been so tired with this pregnancy!! Almost every afternoon from 2-4, I can barely keep my eyes open. All I want to do is just lay down. I have been a lot hungrier this time too. I'm trying to eat healthy, but we only have a few more weeks left in the States until we head back to East Asia. So I am enjoying american food right now!

How Far Along: 13 Weeks

Size of Baby: 3 inches long, about the size of a peach

Weight Gain: 5 lbs-I know wowsers!! I didn't gain that much until I was 20 weeks with Paige!

Gender: We think boy

Movement: Not yet, but I can't wait!

Sleep: It's been okay, could be worse, could be better. I'm already using the body pillow.

Maternity Clothes: yep, most of my pants are maternity now, no shirts yet.

Symptoms: I'm just exhausted.

Aversions: Nothing really.

Cravings: Ice Cream, fountain drink coke. I'm not giving into these very often, but I want to!

What I Miss: Having energy. Did i mention i'm tired?

Best Moment of the Week: Transitioning to maternity pants, i'm so much more comfortable now.

What I'm Looking Forward To: Finding out the gender and feeling this baby move!

We're having a BABY!

We are excited to announce baby #2 is on the way!!!! I'm a little over 12 weeks and due the first week of March!

We found out we were pregnant on June 23rd. Just like with Paige, I took a very early pregnancy test that was negative. However, after a few days Daniel and I were getting a pretty good idea that something was up. We decided I would take a test on Tuesday, but just like with Paige, I was determined to know first, so I took one Monday afternoon.  It was positive!!

Little Paigers was sick this day, and a little confused. But now if we ask her where the baby is she points to my tummy. I'll try to do a 13 week recap this week. Again, internet is rare where we are staying, but I really want to do the weekly updates like I did with Paige.

Here are a few belly shots. Don't worry, I'm much bigger now, I've already put on several pounds!

Stay tuned for all the details coming on the 13 week recap!

Paige's Birth Day Story

Otherwise titled, The longest blog post. Ever.

Ya'll know we decided to be induced on Tuesday the 19th. The night before however, I started having mild contractions about 8-10 minutes apart. They were the most regular contractions I had, and Daniel and I were convinced I would be in natural labor before needing to be induced the next morning.
However, as soon as I went to bed that night, they stopped. Ah well!

I didn't sleep AT ALL that night. I kept waiting for the contractions to come back and my mind was swimming full of baby and labor thoughts. I finally got up at 4:30 to get ready. I of course did my hair and make up, because hello,  it is WHO I AM.

We prayed together with my parents before we left. My dad was still in his pj's because he was coming to the hospital later on. I love his reaction when Daniel tried to snap a pic, ha!

We went to McDonalds to eat a big breakfast, because I knew I wouldn't be able to eat or drink much at the hospital. I guzzled as much water as I could on the way. I also ate a granola bar on the way just to pack in some extra calories.

Last Belly Pic!!

Daniel was my paparazzi for the day.

We checked into the hospital at 6:20 am and were put in room 5. They started the IV with fluids in my right arm and it kept hurting long after they put it in. They also put the fetal heart monitor on me and the contraction monitor. The monitor showed I was having contractions already (even though I couldn't feel them), but Paige's heart rate was decreasing with each contraction. They said they couldn't start the Pitocin until she was stable. Because if she wasn't handling normal, natural contractions, then they couldn't induce.

I looked down at my right arm and realized it was all ballooned up. I asked the nurse if that was normal and she was like "No! it's in wrong." So they very quickly start the IV in my left arm. My blood pressure also started getting really low at this point. While this is going on, another guy came in and started taking my blood while they were switching IV's. It was VERY chaotic and stressful!! The second IV blew and there was blood on me and the floor. So then they tried it again on the top of my left hand. This one went in fine. While this is going on, I start feeling really lightheaded like I was about to faint. I thought it was just my blood sugar so I kept asking for some juice....which they would not give me. I was also sweating profusely. I started to freak out a bit. Paige's heartrate was still pretty low and in minor distress. They brought in an anesthesiologist to talk to me about a C-Section if they couldn't get her heartrate to stabilize. He said they could get me in and do it really quick if they needed to. Let's just say the morning was not going like I imagined at all!!!

I finally calmed down, which actually stabilized Paige's heartrate as well. I guess she was just responding to how I was reacting to everything.

Once we were both stable they started the pitocin at 9am. Now, maybe I was just naive or dumb.....but I thought that even though I was being induced the contractions would be similar to a natural labor....the contractions would start every 30 minutes, then go to 20, 15, etc..... Ummmmm NO. They were immediately about 2-3 minutes apart and lasting up to 3 minutes each. They weren't painful to begin with-they felt like what I had been having at home. So I was pretty encouraged that they felt okay and thinking I had this whole labor thing in the bag.

HA! Little did I know.

When I first got to the hospital, I was 50% effaced (despite the fact I was told I was 75% two weeks prior) and dilated to a 2. By noon, I was 2 1/2 cm. Not where I wanted to be, but I wasn't in too much pain. Both our parents were at the hospital with us. I had bought a few magazines to read to pass the time, but there was too much going on to concentrate on reading.

I received several txt messages from friends and family who were praying for me.

I had planned on walking around and not just being strapped in the bed the whole time, but they kept losing Paige's heartrate on the monitor and had to adjust it on me about every 5 minutes. Each time they adjusted it, I pretty much couldn't move at all to try and keep the monitor in place.

Around 1 pm the contractions started getting REALLY strong and very painful. I tried sitting on the medicine ball and also standing up to see if it would help with the pain. It didn't. My body started shaking uncontrollably. I could feel the shaking in my temples and sides of my face all the way to my feet. When the pain started getting really bad, Daniel and I started using the breathing and relaxation methods we learned from the Bradley Method. Daniel was an excellent labor coach!! Our moms both joked that he was putting them to sleep when he was coaching me on how to breathe.

I was very surprised at how much the contractions hurt. We did the breathing exercises with each one. A few times I was shaking so bad I couldn't control my breathing. By 2pm, I was seriously wondering how long I would be able to do this. I kept trying to tell myself to get it under control. I know that millions of women had gone thru this, and that it could be done. But that only helped for a brief period.

I was checked again at 2:45, almost 6 hours of being in labor. I was only dilated to a 3. This is when I realized how much further I had to go and it really was just the beginning. I started talking to Daniel about getting the epidural.....something I never thought I would do. I was so discouraged that after 6 hours I was just a 3, and the pain and shaking was starting to get to be too much.

After talking about it, we decided to get the epidural. They started it at 3:15pm. I remember that by 4:30ish I was feeling really good! I told Daniel I had no regrets at all about getting the epidural. They came and checked me at 4:40pm and I was 90% effaced at dilated to a 5. I was thinking that this was all going to be okay.

My doctor came in about 5pm and wanted to break my water....something I said I would never do until right before it was time to push. But the pain was pretty under control and I figured we might as well, since it would speed up labor. They broke my water and put in a catheter. It was interesting.

I made the joke that we should just have a c-section, since the entire labor had been everything said I wouldn't do: induction, epidural and breaking my water early.

It did speed up labor, but also brought back a lot of contraction pain. I was now feeling the contractions in my stomach and in my groin/pelvis area. Pretty quickly I was experiencing the same level of pain as before I received the epidural. They upped my pain meds but I didn't get any relief. The anesthesiologist said she thought Paige was sitting on a nerve, which was blocking me from feeling the epidural. Sweet. Exactly what I wanted to hear. I was also having double contractions, where I would have two of them together without any breaks in-between.

At 6 pm I was dilated to a 7. I was still in tons of pain, but figured it wouldn't be too much longer. At about 8:30 they said I was at 8 1/2 and started prepping the room for the delivery. I was still in so much pain and just exhausted, I wondered if I had enough energy to push.

Then they came and checked me again at around 9:30 and said I was actually just a 7. They checked me a few times and yes, I was till just a 7. The doctor came in and started talking a C-section. He said when he and the nurses checked me, Paige was still really high. He thought that her head was too big and it wouldn't be able to fit into my pelvis for me to deliver her naturally.

They took me off the pitocin since I wasn't responding to it at all. Daniel and I talked, and I wanted to see if my body would take over labor on its own. I didn't want to make a quick decision to have the c-section, since Paige wasn't in distress or anything.

As soon as they stopped the pitocin, my labor stopped. My contractions were maybe every 10 minutes and manageable. I quickly realized I was stuck at a 7 and getting further away instead of closer.

Daniel and I talked about it, discussed it with our parents and prayed about it. The hard part for me was that we really didn't know if she would fit or not through my pelvis. I was afraid to agree to the c-section then find out later it wouldn't have been a problem. But we also didn't really know what else to do. I knew we could keep waiting to see if I would keep progressing. But when my labor stopped when they took me off the pitocin, I was starting to be convinced I wasn't getting past a 7.

We decided on the c-section and I asked about a thousand questions of the doctors and nurses. I am a huge questions asker. I'm sure it can be annoying at times, but I want to be informed.

Here we are, about to go into the operating room!

Once my contractions calmed down, I felt pretty good. My body was still shaking pretty bad. I told the nurses that I had prayed that I wouldn't tear during labor, but I didn't expect Father to answer in way of c-section, ha! My doctor made a joke that I was the most talkative person during a c-section. I think it was because I was getting so excited about seeing our little girl.

I felt the pulling and tugging, but nothing hurt. I later said the surgery was the easiest thing I had done all day. Daniel was right next to me the whole time. And at 10:56 pm on that late Tuesday night, we heard our little girl cry for the first time!

They took her into another room to clean her off, and Daniel was able to be in there too. It killed me to not be in that room too. Later I found out that she had some fluid in her lungs that they had to suction out.

Here I am seeing Paige for the first time!

And right after this is when I started crying. I realized she was healthy and beautiful and finally here! I couldn't get over how beautiful she was!

They took me back to my room and brought her in so we could do skin to skin before they took her to the nursery to weigh her and do the normal checks and tests. I am so thankful I got this time with her. When I was holding her she grabbed my hand! Melt my heart!!!
Because I had so many drugs in me, I couldn't sit up without being really nauseated. So that made nursing a bit hard, but I was still just thankful to be holding her.

We later found out that she had been in a sideways position and that she would not have been able to fit through the birth canal, meaning we would've been doing a c-section at some point anyways.

I was able to do skin to skin for about 45 minutes, then they took her to weigh her and do the tests. She was 8 lbs and 20 inches long.

Grandpa Steve and Grandma Sherry with Paige.

My dad with Paige.

Originally, I had planned to have a hot dog after I delivered. But since it was so late, everything was closed, and they told me I couldn't eat until the next morning. One nurse said I could have light snacks, but i was just so exhausted by this point, I just guzzled water and apple juice that first night.

Paige had slight jaundice, but nothing too bad. They put her under the lights a few times and double swaddled her.

Paige roomed in with us, and Daniel stayed with me in the hospital. We didn't sleep at all! Paige did, but we were just way too excited and still trying to process everything from the day. The next day we were both so out of it. I would start sentences and halfway completely forgot what I was talking about. I also told the same story over and over because I couldn't remember who I had told or what I had already said. That Wednesday and Thursday are probably the most tired I have been in my entire life.

The first few days were rough physically, dealing with the pain and trying to get in and out of bed was hard.  i was also really afraid that my incision would open back up. When the nurses came in to offer me pain meds and ask my pain level, I wanted to laugh. After the pain I had been in the day before during labor, I didn't feel like I could justify taking any pain meds or even give a number to what I was currently feeling compared to what my labor pain had been. (don't worry I did take them) I also woke up during the night completely drenched. I had been warned about the night sweats before, but i'm still shocked at how drenched I am in the middle of the night. Last night even the sheets and blanket were wet.

On Thursday I started making small laps to get me up and moving. I also took a shower, which was difficult to do considering I couldn't face the water because of my staples.

Paige had an ultrasound and the fluid on her kidneys were all gone!!!! Praise Father!!! We also found out that she had peed during the delivery, which made me really happy. This is something we have been praying about for months. Her kidneys are still a little thick, so we're having another ultrasound next week.

We came home from the hospital on Friday afternoon. Here's her coming home outfit!

All ready to leave!

I have tons of thoughts on the emotional aspect of the c-section. But that is another post entirely.

While I would've never thought my labor would go the way it did, I know without a doubt that it went the way it was supposed to.

And that is the story of how Paige Olivia came into our lives!
