Everything

I feel like I have so much to catch up on......

So......I might just have to do bullets or we'll both be here forever.

1. I ran this morning. For the first time, in.a.while. ugh I hate when I take long breaks. Despite all my excuses for why I haven't been running, i'm SO glad I did today!!! I didn't wear my watch because sometimes it's just better not to know. I had a slow run and felt so good!

2. Our building is having some type of water issue. There's a big hole right outside our building. I'm not sure why it's taking so long to fix it, but hurry up will you! We've had 3 days (not in a row thank goodness!) without water. And I was not prepared or forewarned on any of them. Score.

This is what our water looked like after it came back on.

3. A few weeks back I decided to make my own hamburger buns. Now, truth be told, when I first heard that you could make them yourself my first thought was "why?" We can buy them here so to me....that's a win for every one. But the place where I buy them relocated and isn't that convenient anymore, so I gave it a whirl.

The recipe was really easy, but they were a little bit too bready for me. I might've done something wrong, because they fell apart when we ate them.

4. We got carpet this past weekend!!! We actually bought a large piece of carpet that was cut to look like a large rug. It's in our living room and we love it!!!!!!!! I'm not sure how much carpet is in the states, but I thought we got a great deal. And with peanut rolling all over the place, I feel better knowing she won't be face planting onto the wood floor anymore. Here is Paige enjoying the new carpet.

5. Paige has started solids-that's a whole other post. But I started making her baby food this week, and it was SUPER easy!! You can buy jarred baby food here, but it's so beyond expensive. I made pureed apples. SO easy.

6 apples gave me about 3 ice cube trays.

6. Paige turned 6 months yesterday!!! How crazy is that?!?!!? We don't go to the doctor till next week so I'll do her post then so I can have her stats correct :)

Happy Tuesday!!!

have you ever made baby food? what's your fave site or book for recipes?

A little news

Life here has been a little crazy.

We were originally planning on delivering Paige in a nearby country, not too far from us. But through a lot of different circumstances, we found ourselves deciding to go to the States.

We'll be in Oklahoma in a little less than 2 weeks! We'll spend some time in the Oklahoma/Texas area and spend Christmas with Daniel's family. The first part of January we'll travel to my parents who live in Illinois.

We'll deliver Paige there, then make our way back here by April.

We of all people are probably the most surprised that we're going to the states for almost 4 months. We bought our tickets a little over a week ago, and almost every day since then we say something like "can you believe in XX days we'll be in america?" It's pretty surreal. We didn't take the decision lightly. We prayed about it and really sought the Father's wisdom. We know this is where He is leading us right now and we have great peace about the decision. But still....a little weird.

So I'm in a little bit of panic mode trying to get the nursery ready. I know I won't be able to get it completely set up, but I'm trying to get as much done so when we return it's one less thing I have to worry about.

Daniel painted last week.....let's just say it looks great, but the color is WAY brighter than we thought it would be! We also bought a wardrobe (since closets are nonexistent here). I just ordered the crib and a rug, and hope they get here soon.

That's our news......if I don't post in a while it's because i'm making our 100th to-do list!  :)

What's in a Name?

Announcing.................................................................

Paige Olivia

Whenever we would talk about baby names, Daniel focused on the meaning of the name. If a name sounded great but didn't have a strong meaning, it went out the window. You can imagine how productive and fun our 'what should we name the baby' conversations went, ha!

For years, I have loved the name Paige for a little girl. Ever since we found out we were having a girl, we've called her Paige. But we had a hard time with the middle name. I am very thankful that Daniel was pretty quick to like the name Paige. It probably didn't hurt that I would refer to our baby as Paige all the time....slowly winning him over :)

So I forced suggested to Daniel (several weeks back), that we should go to Starbucks, take the baby name book, and get serious about naming our little girl. After throwing out a few random names, we found Olivia. We loved the way it sounded and felt like it really was the perfect completion for our little girls name.

Here's why:

Paige-a servant, assistant, or one who brings a message
Olivia-Olive or olive tree, which symbolizes peace

So together, our hope is that our daughter will be

"a messenger of peace, or one who brings peace."

We absolutely love her name and can't wait for her to get here!!!!!!

I have SOOO much to post, i'll try to get my weekly recap up later today, along with tons of other stuff that is happening.

Oh the cuteness

So mom flew in Sunday nite. Her flights went really smooth and we were SO excited to see her!

Mom has been busy since she's been here....which is of no shocker to anyone knows her.

She came in Sunday night....this is mom on Monday morning.

She has already reorganized our kitchen cabinets and cleaned the kitchen wall tile. I'm not sure what she's going to do for the next several days, but I have no doubt she'll find something, ha!

So.........mom brought 2 suitcases FULL of goodies for us! First, here is the baby bedding. I picked out Babydoll by Living Textiles, and I LOVE it! I love all the colors, and the bedding has stripes and polka dots...does it get any cuter than that???????

The answer is no. No, it does not.

Look at the goodies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I almost want to cry. I got 3 lbs of candy corn and Swiss cake rolls!

When I was in the States this summer, I had bought some fall/winter maternity clothes that Mom brought over with her, along with some new stuff from Old Navy.

Apparently I have a thing for stripes??

Then......mom told us to stay out of the living room to set up a surprise.

Mom, along with my grandma and a family friend, decided to send us presents and we had a little baby shower. And yes, the presents are wrapped in cupcakes...my fave!

All the pink cupcakes and polka dots, oh my goodness!!!!!

I am in AWE at how much my mom brought us.....seriously I am overwhelmed at the gifts-both in food and baby clothes. I feel so spoiled, I can't even explain.

I need to do another post on what we've been doing lately, but I just had to share the cuteness that is going on in her house right now!!
